Hoya polyneura Albomarginata (Outer Variegated Fishtail Hoya)

A highly sought-after variegated form of the beloved Fishtail Hoya, named for the distinctive shape and venation of its foliage. Hoya polyneura Albomarginata features green leaves framed by cream-to-white outer variegation, creating a crisp contrast that becomes increasingly striking as the plant fills out.

Unlike many thicker-leaved Hoyas, polyneura has thinner, more delicate foliage and appreciates somewhat more consistent moisture. It develops an elegant branching and trailing habit rather than the long searching vines typical of many Hoyas, making a mature specimen especially beautiful in a hanging pot.

Care
Bright indirect light • warm temperatures • moderate humidity. Grown in Pro-Mix HP, a well-draining peat and perlite potting mix. Unlike many thicker-leaved Hoyas, Hoya polyneura prefers more consistent moisture; allow the mix to dry substantially between waterings, but avoid leaving the plant completely dry for extended periods. Water thoroughly and always allow excess water to drain—never leave the roots waterlogged.

This species is particularly attractive allowed to branch and trail from a hanging pot. Mature plants can produce clusters of fragrant, star-shaped flowers. Do not remove spent flower peduncles, as Hoyas frequently rebloom from the same peduncle.

Shipping
Plants are carefully packed and may ship potted or bare root depending on plant size and shipping conditions. Variegated polyneura foliage can be somewhat delicate, so minor cosmetic wear or occasional leaf loss may occur during shipping and acclimation. Heat packs are added when appropriate during cold weather.
