Hoya scortechinii

A less commonly offered Hoya species from Malaysia, named for botanist Benedetto Scortechini and first published in 1908. Mature plants produce particularly attractive yellow-gold flowers, making this an interesting species for collectors looking beyond the more ubiquitous foliage-focused Hoyas. It develops a trailing or twining growth habit as it matures.

Care
Bright indirect light • warm temperatures • moderate humidity. Grown in Pro-Mix HP, a well-draining peat and perlite potting mix. Allow the potting mix to dry between waterings, then water thoroughly and allow excess water to drain. Hoyas should never remain waterlogged.

Allow to trail or provide a trellis or other support for its twining growth. Do not remove spent flower peduncles, as Hoyas frequently rebloom from the same peduncle.

Shipping
Plants are carefully packed and may ship potted or bare root depending on plant size and shipping conditions. Heat packs are added when appropriate during cold weather.
